[Event] ‘Head In The Clouds 2021’ – Heavy hitters CL, DPR Live, DPR Ian, Saweetie make for an amazing experience HeyArrrrnold 11/20/2021 Asian Junkie, Exclusives, K-Entertainment, Multimedia
After ATARASHII GAKKOU, Lil Cherry, and GOLDBUUDA kicked the Head In The Clouds festival off a quartet of heavy hitters rolled out in the form of DPR Live, DPR Ian, CL, and Saweetie.
88rising’s Head In The Clouds festival leans heavily towards representing Asian talent who provide elevated forms of art, and the guys at DPR certainly had more than enough of that to spare. To see them on the Head In The Clouds lineup again wasn’t a surprise. Though this year proved to be memorable for the simple fact that DPR IAN was on stage.
DPR LIVE and DPR IAN opened their joint set with the mighty epic “Diamond + And Pearls” off the recently released Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings soundtrack, produced by festival host 88rising. It was an exciting e..
K-Pop Fans Discussed 9 Of The Most Confusing K-Pop Group Names To Pronounce, Based On Unusual Spelling
Some K-Pop group names are easy to pronounce correctly: BTS, SEVENTEEN, TWICE, Red Velvet… And many more. Others, however, either have odd spelling or grammar in the name, or include other symbols like numbers and punctuation that make them much more confusing! While most…
[Review] T-ara provide nostalgic moments on “TIKI TAKA” that get sidetracked at times TheBiasList 11/15/2021 Editorials, K-Entertainment, Reviews
It’s such a joy to write about T-ara today. The group hasn’t made a comeback since 2017 – before many of today’s most popular acts had even debuted! K-pop’s constant changes and debuts keep it exciting, but there’s nothing like hearing from a veteran act. T-ara are such a huge part of K-pop history, and it’s great to see them release new music.
Tiki Taka (티키타카) comes courtesy of a few newer-gen producers, most notably singer-songwriter Colde. It’s interesting that they chose to promote this song with a music video, since the other new track is bolstered by more familiar collaborators. But, I guess it’s good to keep moving forward, and Tiki Taka still draws upon many identifiable T-ara sounds. In an era often fueled by Bratz Doll affectations, the group’s smooth, mature vocals are an absolut..
Hyosung targeted at anti-feminist protests after participating in campaign against dating violence IATFB 11/15/2021 K-Entertainment
A couple weeks ago, former SECRET member Hyosung featured in a video by the Ministry Of Gender Equality And Family for their Drawing Hope Campaign, in which she shared her thoughts on dating violence and expressed hopes that views would change.
The video itself was basically innocuous to any reasonable people. In it, she shares her dream of living in a safe South Korea where there’s no more violence.
The “problem”, apparently is that she talked about gender violence, “When I watch the news these days, I feel there is more news about gender violence. I participated in the campaign because I want to help out even a little bit. … I believe that it is an ambiguous issue for many people that is on the fine line between a crime and love. I came to realize that this is definitely a crime and I feel that still ..
CL is having a great time in Los Angeles and it rules IATFB 11/13/2021 K-Entertainment
While Korean entertainment is making its way over to America in droves now, with crossover events happening daily, I found CL seemingly randomly posting these pictures in Los Angeles to be the best of them all. The point? I wanted to bring more attention to it all, honestly.
Honestly, all of this is amazing and better than doing red carpet events for me.
Yas summed it up nicely.
She also met up with Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez, apparently?
Just like everything happening, I have no idea what the context or reason is. I know she was there for the Head In The Clouds festival, but I have no idea why she’s doing all this specifically. Perhaps there is no special reason, which is what makes it the best.

BLACKSWAN’s Fatou calls out Leia’s behavior to refute rumors that Fatou was bullying Leia, Rania’s legacy of mess lives on
BLACKSWAN’s Fatou calls out Leia’s behavior to refute rumors that Fatou was bullying Leia, Rania’s legacy of mess lives on IATFB 11/14/2021 K-Entertainment
Despite DR Music attempting to kill off Rania for Black Swan, the legacy of absolute mess continues to follow the group no matter what they try and do with it.
The latest is a dispute between members Leia and Fatou. Things emerged a couple days ago when a fansite of Leia allegedly had conversations with a relative of the member that was claiming Fatou was bullying Leia.
In the messages, there were claims that Leia is being bullied by a fellow member of Black Swan, Fatou. The messenger claimed that Leia was bullied since the start of October with intimidation, oppressing, and provocation but that it has gotten worse recently. They claimed that Fatou is the reason why Leia has been so quiet on live streams and not so active on social media. They claimed Leia tried to talk with the ..
Deep Reviews: Billie’s “RING X RING” debut just drones ON X ON IATFB 11/10/2021 K-Entertainment
Billie recently debuted with “RING X RING” and while it’s conceptually interesting, basically everything about the song is repetitive. The synth, the beat, the vocals, everything that starts out intriguing just seems to drone on and on until the finish, and it all leads to this robotic feel, and in the soulless sense not a sci-fi one. As you can imagine, repeat listens only exacerbate the issue.

Street Woman Fighter Episodes 7+8: Celebrity smorgasbord with Jessi, Psy, Jo Kwon, Jay Park and more, plus final eliminations
Street Woman Fighter Episodes 7+8: Celebrity smorgasbord with Jessi, Psy, Jo Kwon, Jay Park and more, plus final eliminations Hojo 11/11/2021 K-Entertainment
Its name is ‘Pudding’ I’ve recovered from my trauma and am ready to write about a less baffling and tumultuous show. Last time on Street Woman Fighter we saw Lee Chaeyeon and the rest of the WANT team lose to LACHICA in their elimination battle. Even though arguably the biggest draw for the show is now gone, enough personality remains in the rest of the cast to keep us entertained for the last few episodes.
The mission to choreograph Jessi‘s new song “Cold Blooded” acts as more of a mini-mission, as not much broadcast real-estate is afforded to the prep process. We pretty much only get to see the results, which are pretty standard for the most part. Prowdmon get conceptual with their choreo, going for a traditional-inspired sword dance. AIKI from HOOK dons a bedazzled brassiere ..
Yoochun banned from activities in entertainment industry after ruling in case over his contract IATFB 11/10/2021 K-Entertainment
Yoochun has recently been banned from appearing on television and doing activities in the entertainment industry, though it’s not for what you probably think.
Sure, he has been ordered to pay damages to an alleged victim in his rape case and comically got caught using drugs, but of course it was fucking around with contracts that led to this.
YTN reported on November 10, quoting the words of the legal representative of Yesperar Co. Ltd, Park Yoo Chun’s management company, and stated, “An injunction was made to the Seoul Central District Court to ban Park Yoo Chun from appearing on TV shows and continuing activities in the entertainment industry. Late today (on the 10th), the court decided to cite the application.” The legal representative explained, “The court rejected all of Park Yoo Chun’s defenses and d..
Rookie girl group Azer have a unique K-pop origin story & their latest release is pretty great IATFB 11/09/2021 K-Entertainment
Rookie girl group Azer are a rarity in that they’re truly unique, but not so much in concept and music as origin story. Rather than hailing from a company, they are instead friends from Howon University’s K-pop department (which is a thing, apparently).
Howon University, situated in the peaceful city of Gunsan, North Jeolla, established its K-pop department in 2019 as a part of the school’s innovation projects. The decision came after talks with professors from the division of applied music and fortunately, the results were successful. The department filled all its 30 student slots without even posting an advertisement and the program has expanded, taking on 43 students this year, as the number of applicants continues to increase. The class of 21 beat a competition ratio of 8:52 to 1. Campuses outside Seoul ..
